The Autódromo Internacional do Algarve has 8 different stands, each served by an access door. The colour of the access door corresponds to the colour of the stand and is the only door through which your ticket allows access.
The map above shows the stands and respective doors, as well as service areas, such as toilets, food and drink outlets and the approximate location of the giant screens placed to watch the races in the various areas of the circuit.
On the days of the event, but especially on Sunday, the influx of cars and people to the Circuit will be very large. To avoid long queues, arrive at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve a few hours in advance. Also count on the time to look for the car park, to look for a place in the car park and for the journey on foot to your stand and designated seat. Don’t make it easy for yourself, so that your experience is the best possible and you can attend all the practices and races of the programme.
The Autódromo Internacional do Algarve has prepared several unpaved and one tarmac car parks where you can park your car or motorbike.
Access and parking for cars and motorcycles is free this year for almost all parks, so you don’t need to buy a pass. Only the park of the Main Stand is paid. You can buy the parking pass online (with a deadline due to postage) or at the AIA Circuit Shop, subject to availability.
The car parks are between 10 and 30 minutes walk from the circuit, so we advise you to choose the car park closest to your grandstand area so that this time is not increased.
Two free car parks will be available in Portimão (Praia da Rocha area) and Lagos (Marina area), from where free buses will depart to the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve. Below you can find the location of the parks. Just present your ticket to access the bus.
Please note that parking spaces are not marked and are subject to availability.
Spectators will have two ways to reach the circuit:
– Through dedicated, exclusive and free shuttles that can be used upon presentation of the pass or ticket, from Portimão (Praia da Rocha, at the location indicated below) and Lagos (Marina, at the location indicated below). Transports are scheduled to start at 7.30 am on the days of the event and will leave at 1 hour intervals. At the end of each day, after the day’s programme has finished, shuttles will operate to take spectators back to Portimão (Praia da Rocha) and Lagos (Marina). See the departure location further down in this Guide.
– By own car or motorbike, parking in the car parks available around the venue as per the map above.
For easier access to the Circuit, you should follow the signs and look for the park closest to your seating area.
All parks in the AIA venue will have permanent security staff and staff to inform spectators of the capacity and availability of each park. Their opening hours are from 07h00 until two hours after the event ends. There are no buses for transportation from the park to the Circuit, so you should count on walking time of up to 30 minutes.
According to the authorities, alcohol consumption is not permitted inside the perimeter of the circuit, so alcohol will not be sold at the outlets near the outdoor grandstands.
Alcohol will only be sold in the bars outside that perimeter, and the authorities consider the outside bars to be the outlets located in the Fan Zone and those located in the bars under the Main Grandstand.
At the circuit gates, the security staff will process entries by identifying tickets electronically with barcode readers. The barcodes will contain the information previously provided to the organisation when purchasing the tickets, so spectators must bring their personal identification with them when entering the circuit.
Entrances will be monitored by the GNR guards.
After entering the circuit, there will be signs to help spectators get to their stand and allocated seat, as well as staff to control the flow.
If spectators do not respect the instructions given by the staff, they may be asked to leave the venue and will not be entitled to a refund of their ticket price. Likewise, if a spectator is visibly under the influence of illegal substances or alcohol or displays inappropriate behaviour that puts the well-being and safety of the event and other spectators at risk, they may be asked to leave the venue, with no right to a refund of the ticket price.
The venue will close daily at around 5.45pm (Friday and Saturday) or 4:30pm (Sunday), after the event finishes, so spectators are advised to remain calm when leaving. There is signage to help spectators leave their stand and seat, as well as Staff to control the flow and ensure social distancing.
On the days of the event, and especially on Sunday, the influx of cars and people to the Circuit will be very large. There are spectators with weekend tickets and spectators with Sunday tickets only, so there will be even more spectators on this day than on the other days.
Plan your travel well. To avoid long traffic jams, arrive at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve a few hours in advance. Also count on the time to look for the parking lot, to look for a place in the parking lot, for the displacement on foot to your grandstand, for the ticket control at the entrance and to look for the marked place. Don’t make it easy, so that your experience is as good as possible and you can attend all the training sessions and races on the program.
The program is very extensive and rich, so there are reasons to be entertained as early as 0900 in the morning and until the end of the day. In addition, there are support facilities scattered around the Circuit and near the grandstands, such as toilets and areas to buy food and drink. In addition, giant screens around the circuit will always be broadcasting, so you can watch everything that is happening on the track.
Come as early as possible to the Circuit.
